Sorrento on the Mornington Pensinsula, is a beautiful seaport on Port Phillip Bay south of Melbourne. On the day of this painting the light was sparkling whilst the ferry left for Queenscliff on the opposite side of the bay, which can be seen in the distance of the painting. A very popular holiday spot in the summer, with many fine dining spots and sea related activities.
