Tour Saint Jacques stands on a little park on the Rue de Rivoli near the Hotel de Ville . It dates back to the 16th century and is the belltower remnant of an ancient church. In 2006 an intensive 3 year renovation commenced to stop the sandstone crumbling dangerously and falling below, this was complete in 2009 when the scaffolding was taken down to reveal the tower in all its glory.
